Taster Days
Following your meeting with the Head and tour of the school Leweston Prep strongly recommends that your child should spend a day, or in the case of boarding, a day and a night, with the class they will join.
A taster day starts at 8.15 am when you and your child will be greeted by the relevant Form Teacher and your child's 'guardian angel' (another pupil in their class who will look after them for the day). After an initial introduction, the Form Teacher will take you to the classroom and settle any last minute nerves! Your child will then follow the class's timetable for the day. The Form Teacher will informally assess your child during their taster day and parents will have the opportunity at the end of the day to meet with the Head and the Form Teacher to find out how their child has got on.
Very young children might want to have a taster morning or afternoon. The older children should come for the day. If your child has a favourite subject or activity please let the admissions department know and we will do our best to plan the taster day accordingly.
