Music

Music at Leweston Prep is exceptional and permeates all aspects of school life. Approximately 75% of pupils in years 3 to 6 learn instruments and pupils in year 2 have the opportunity to learn the piano or recorder.

Pupils are given the opportunity to perform in our regular informal concerts and there is an orchestra and two recorder groups.

There are two choirs in the school.  The Chapel choir rehearses to sing at our weekly masses and the choir performs in concerts and at the carol service.

Instrumental tuition is offered in the major orchestral instruments, recorder and piano.

Pupils take part regularly in community events in Sherborne, such as the Youth Makes Music concert , the parish fete and carol singing in the town.
