Leweston accepts a number of pupils into Year 12 every year from outside of the school.
The standard entry requirement for students entering Sixth Form is 6 GCSEs at grade 5 or above with a grade 7 or above in the subjects they wish to pursue at A Level or Pre-U. Entry is at the absolute discretion of the Head. We also require a satisfactory reference from the Head of a pupil’s current school.
We encourage all prospective Sixth Form entrants to come to our Sixth Form Information Evening in October where they can meet the staff and discuss their A Level, Pre-U and BTEC choices. They will also be invited to our Sixth Form Taster Day which takes place in the Autumn Term. This provides the opportunity to experience Sixth Form and trial some of the new courses on offer. Alternative ‘taster days’ can be arranged throughout the year.
Sixth Form candidates are of course welcome at all of our Open Days and parents are encouraged to arrange an individual visit to meet the Head, Head of Sixth Form and a tour of the school.
Registration secures a place for your child in their chosen year of entry, subject to offer and acceptance. To register parents complete a Registration Form and pay a non-refundable fee of £100 for the Sixth Form. Students need to be registered to make a scholarship or bursary application.
A place is formally offered following taster and assessment. To accept the offer we ask you to pay a deposit and sign the parent contract which guarantees the place. A New Pupil’s Pack will then be sent to you ahead of your child’s start date.
