Imagine a school set in 46 acres of Dorset parkland, where every boundary is either a field or wood and happy children work, explore and play creatively together and purposefully together.

Located just south of Sherborne, Leweston Nursery and Junior Department offers a co-educational education to boys and girls from 3 months to 4 years in the Nursery, and from 4 to 11 years in the Junior Department. Leweston's values are based upon a Catholic ethos and we offer a warm welcome to children of all denominations.

Traditional values of work and behaviour are held in high esteem and emphasis is placed on pastoral care. The School motto 'Gaudere et Bene Facere' - 'Rejoice and Do Well' reflects the importance of high academic standards together with artistic, musical and sporting excellence achieved in an atmosphere of joy, vibrancy and faith in God.

Great emphasis is placed on living by the 'Golden Rules' and children of all ages benefit from the outstanding pastoral care which emanates from the committed and enthusiastic teaching staff. The chapel lies at the centre of our school and provides opportunities for families to pray, reflect and celebrate together. The small classes and state of the art learning environment create a strong and caring family based school, which makes it a very special place in which to study.

Current parents and pupils know that the value of the first hand Leweston experience far outweighs the paper prospectus or electronic imagery. As one parent recently said '[…] has blossomed at Leweston Junior Department and it is quite remarkable how a pupil's talents are discovered and developed at the school.'

Once here, you will certainly want to return to this very special place. We hope you enjoy your virtual tour and look forward to sharing an actual tour with you in the near future.
