Life at Leweston is a busy one, all pupils are encouraged to take part in a number of activities outside their normal academic, musical and sporting commitments and Leweston offers a choice of over 50 different activities, clubs and societies each term.
In the evenings there is an extensive after-school programme, which is on offer to all pupils from Reception to Year 13. The large majority of the clubs are free of charge, but where an external instructor is booked, a small charge may be applicable.
In the Prep school activities run from 4.30pm to 5.30pm every day. Senior pupils choose options for Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays between 4.45pm and 5.45pm and 7.30pm and 8.30pm. The programme of activities varies each term with pupils changing their options each half-term. Pupils are invited to comment on the programme and suggest future activities to be included in the programme. The Prep school is also delighted to hear from parents who might like to get involved and offer an activity to the pupils.
Every weekend both boarders and day pupils are invited to participate in further activities and trips. The timetable is again prepared in advance and circulated to all parents at the end of the preceding term but, in order to accommodate last minute opportunities as well as the British weather the programme is supplemented on a weekly basis.
Every Saturday morning Years 7 to 11 attend a Saturday activity on a different topic, for Sixth Formers attendance is voluntary. These activities are organised by members of the academic staff or the pupils themselves and range from Launching a Product to Famous People of the Twentieth Century.
The range of extra-curricular activities available to pupils is outstanding, and greatly enhances the curriculum provision.
