Leweston Pentathlon Club compete at the European Triathle and Biathle Championships
5 pupils from Leweston travelled to Weiden Germany between 27-29 July to take part in the European Triathle & Biathle Championships as part of the Great Britain Team. The young athletes were taking part in the Triathle, which is a continuous laser shoot, to swim, to run, which they repeated 2 or 4 times at various distances depending on age. In the Under 11's Evanna B. finished 9th achieving one of the fastest shoots of the day in less than 5 seconds to get 5 green lights. In the Under 13's Ginny B. came 4th just missing out on a medal but still part of the GB gold medal team. The Under 15's had to compete in heats in the morning and finals in the afternoon. In the final Darcy D. had a great race taking Silver and Vivien T came 10th, and part of the GB Silver medal team. In the Under 17's Mimi L. had a tough race with a very high standard of competition and finished 9th. In the mixed relays Darcy was in a team with Jack A. in the Under 15's with the team taking Silver. Everyone had a fantastic time at the event and should be proud of their brilliant achievements.
