Key Stage One
In the Pre-Prep we provide a safe, lively and inspiring environment for girls and boys. We work closely with parents and encourage family values, good manners and respect for others. Through skillful teaching the children's potential is nurtured and developed so that they grow in confidence and independence.
We have one class per year group with 16 as a maximum number of children. In the Pre-Prep Department great emphasis is placed on the development of basic Numeracy and Literacy skills. Pupils benefit from Science, Geography, History, Art and Technology, Games and PE including swimming. Specialist teachers teach French and Music throughout the department. Staff start to identify each child's individual strengths which are then harnessed to capture their enthusiasm for learning. By keeping detailed records of children's achievements and progress through frequent systematic observation and assessments, we ensure the children are happy, secure and progressing at their maximum level. By the end of Year Two, test results indicate that the majority of children are well above the National average for achievement in Literacy and Numeracy.
