Maths

Maths work in the pre-prep places its emphasis on practical experience, investigations, problem solving and the use of appropriate language.

The children learn mental addition and subtraction, which begins through games and investigations. They move on to simple fractions and number patterns as well as learning about time, measurement, weight, money, capacity and data handling. They are taught the names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes and positional language, rotation, symmetry and patterns.
