Healthy Eating

At Leweston we aim to ensure that all children receive a balanced diet which provides the nutrients needed for optimal growth and development. Children have no need to bring their own packed lunches and the pupils’ choices are monitored closely by the staff.  Specific medical or ethical dietary requirements are catered for. A very good selection of food is provided by the Catering Department, and pupils and staff (as good role models) are encouraged to:

We are committed to helping children develop the skills and resources to make informed decisions about their health both at school and at home. Pupils learn about healthy eating as part of their science lessons and this also includes a visit to the Catering Department.  We hope that our children will learn to make informed choices about what they eat and enjoy the social experience of meal times within the school environment, at home and within the wider community.
