Leweston Pre-Prep is situated in an idyllic setting adjacent to the Prep School and welcomes boys and girls from the ages 2½ to 7.
The classrooms occupy the refurbished areas set within the original Coach House and the Early Years facilities (Nursery and Reception classes) are well placed, benefiting from the secure south facing gardens and well equipped play areas. All children in the Pre-Prep make regular use of the extensive grounds. Here they become focused learners, commencing a journey of exploration, adventure and fun!
Young children from the age of 2½ thrive in the happy purposeful environment of the Nursery and Reception. The stimulating and carefully structured activities are designed to enable all the children to reach their full potential through a carefully planned timetable including imaginative play, dance, cookery, French, Music and Information Communication Technology (ICT. As the children progress through these early stages of their education they are encouraged to develop a love of reading and they learn to ask enquiring questions about the World in which they live.
In years one and two (key stage one), each child is encouraged to achieve the very best they possibly can. The pupils are introduced to an increasing range of subjects and develop a wealth of skills.
By the end of year two the girls are fully equipped for the challenges and excitement of the prep school and the boys are well prepared to move into independent preparatory or state schools.
This of course gives only a snapshot of life at our school. Your child could benefit in so many ways from the foundations laid down in our Pre-Prep.
Do come and visit us and see for yourself the range of opportunities available to both you and your children…
