French
French has traditionally been the most popular language taught in schools and it is easy to see why. It is the second most frequently taught language in the world after English and 28 countries in the world have French as an official language. It remains an important language in the worlds of diplomacy and law being an official working language of institutions such as the United Nations, NATO, the International Labor, the International Olympic Committee and the EU and the dominant language at the European Court of Justice.
