Years 7 to 9

In Year 7 at Leweston the girls who come to us with French continue to develop their skills in the language and there is provision for beginners.

In Year 8 the girls have the opportunity to begin work on Spanish and German too. The school operates a rotating system by which the pupils are exposed to three languages throughout the year, with an emphasis not only on the language but also on the teaching of the different cultures and contexts in which these languages operate. 

Students joining the school in Year 9 who have not previously experienced a second language are provided with the necessary help/tuition to supplement their knowledge and make a genuine choice.
