Maths GCSE
The GCSE course starts in Year 9 with, the majority of the girls working towards the linear GCSE 'Higher Tier' course of Edexcel. The girls are assisted in their learning by the most up-to-date texts with CD-ROMs available for more independent-style learning. The latter part of the course encourages the girls to develop their examination technique and to revise the topics covered throughout the course and for those who require extra help revision classes are available.
Girls will now have the opportunity to study towards OCR Additional Mathematics, a Level 3 qualification giving a broad introduction to mathematics beyond GCSE. The majority of girls in the highest set will br able to study this course which will run either concurrently with the GCSE, or in Year 11 if girls have completed their GCSE in Year 10.
