Admissions Procedure
Leweston is an academic school which accepts girls from 11 to 18. Entry is normally at age 11 into Year 7, at age 13 into Year 9 and age 16 into Year 12, although girls are accepted into any year group if appropriate. Entrance is dependent on testing usually through Common Entrance. For those not being prepared for CE we assess by other methods. Overseas students can arrange to be tested at their current school. A taster day can be arranged at your convenience during which your daughter would sit our school entrance assessment - a series of academic, numerical and perceptual reasoning tests that takes approximately an hour. Entry into the Sixth Form at 16+ is dependent on six good passes at GCSE and is at the absolute discretion of the Headmaster.
Appointments to visit Leweston
We encourage all prospective parents to visit the school, to have an individual tour with a pupil and meet the Headmaster, Mr Aylward and other members of staff.
Progressing an application to join Leweston
If you wish to progress an application to Leweston, there is a registration form to complete and a fee of £100. Your daughter then sits a Scholarship paper, the Common Entrance or the School Examination. The offer of a place will then depend on the school’s assessment and interview with the Headmaster. This offer must be accepted in writing and accompanied by a deposit which will be returned to you when your daughter leaves the school; this deposit is forfeited if you do not take up the place.
