Junior House
Situated in the beautiful Manor House, Junior House is a welcoming, safe and happy place for our younger boarders to live. The Housemistress, Rachel Robson lives in the boarding house with her family, and is there at all times to give the girls the care, attention and support they need.
There are boarders in Junior House from Year 3 to Year 8. They live in bright and airy dormitories with other girls of a similar age. Weekdays are structured to enable the girls to work effectively in school and to enjoy relaxation and leisure time, and at weekends there are a wide variety of activities, both on site and in the local area to stimulate and challenge the girls.
A strong sense of community is very important for boarders at any age, but especially so for younger girls who may be away from home for the first time. Rachel Robson, as a non-teaching housemistress, is available in the house whenever the girls need her, and members of the teaching staff from both the Prep and Senior Schools come into the boarding house in the evenings to support and interact with the girls. The very popular ‘pyjama prayers’ led by our Chaplain, Fr Richard, every Tuesday evening in the school chapel, captures some of the real spirit of the boarding experience for Junior House girls; this is a place to be together but to be yourself, to reflect, to learn, to share and co-operate, and to have fun!
