Careers & HE
All students participate in a structured careers programme from Year 7 to help them make informed decisions about further or higher education choices and career options. Girls can request individual interviews with the Head of Careers, and they can use the Careers Room which contains a wide range of resources, including aptitude programmes on the CD Rom, prospectuses, occupational descriptions, literature from professional organisations and periodicals.
In the Sixth Form the focus in on the provision of advice and guidance to prepare girls fro university and GAP placements. Speakers from a range of professions visit the school to keep girls informed about specific careers. The OA mentoring scheme is designed to create an electronic ‘old girls’ network’ where current and former pupils of Leweston can exchange experiences and information by email.
