ISI Inspection Report 2010
Leweston Senior School is delighted with the findings of its 2010 ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) Inspection report. All the areas inspected were judged either excellent or good. The report not only recognises the strength of the academic and extra-curricular achievements of Leweston’s pupils, but also their enthusiasm, commitment and social, moral, spiritual and cultural development.
Inspectors observed that…
“Pupils achieve results well above the national average for all Schools at GCSE and A Level (ISI’s benchmark). They benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum and excel in the excellent range of extra curricular activities… They enjoy their studies and demonstrate outstanding commitment…. They are keen to succeed, and persevere in what they are doing…. Excellent Careers provision is a feature of the curriculum throughout…Pupils’ success in academic work, sport and music owes much to the commitment of their teachers and their own positive attitude.”
“The pupils’ personal development is outstanding, fostered by the strong community ethos that pervades all that the school does… Their behaviour is exemplary and they enjoy good relationships amongst themselves and with teachers and other staff.”
“The school provides an excellent standard of pastoral care for its pupils.”
“Boarding is enjoyed by the pupils and contributes effectively to the school’s mission and aim”.
“The school has worked hard at developing excellent relationships with parents.”
“The quality of leadership and management…. is now excellent.”
