Culinary Success!

Congratulations to Leweston Year 9 pupils Megan R and Alice E who came third and fourth respectively at the Rotary Young Chef Competition on Saturday.

This was an exceptionally good result for the Year 9 girls as they were competing against Year 11 GCSE catering students.

Megan was awarded full marks for her dessert of lemon meringue roulade and Alice was complimented on making her own puff pastry and on the choice of fish for her menu, which was an unusual and healthy choice and fitted the competition criteria.

This result follows both girls recent success in the Regional Round of the ‘Make it with Mince competition judged by TV Chef, James Martin last term.  Alice came first in this competition with Megan taking third place.  Well done to both girls.
