At Leweston we are justly proud of our pupils’ achievements at GCSE and A Level and we place great importance on our ability to support every child to achieve their potential.
Leweston consistently ranks in the top 10% of schools nationally for ‘value-added’, an independently arbitrated measure of the progress pupils make between different stages of education. In simple terms the more pupils perform beyond expectations the higher the ‘value added’ score. Typically Leweston adds the equivalent of one grade to pupils’ GCSE results and a further half a grade at A Level.
Value added pupil performance is measured by Durham University Centre for Educational Management.
This external verification reflects the dedication and hard work that our pupils put into their studies, the serious work ethic of the school and the benefits of Leweston’s exceptional staff to pupil ratio.
