Leweston & St Mary’s Catholic First School have worked together to send over 50 of pairs of shoes to support an organisation called Sal’s Shoes.  They provide pre-loved shoes to school children around the world that need them. In their first year they collected 4805 pairs of shoes and distributed them in 8 countries. Four years on, Sal’s Shoes have found new feet for over half a million pairs of pre-loved children’s shoes in 35 countries around the world.

Leweston pupils were delighted to be able to put their efforts into supporting this fantastic cause.

There are 300 million barefoot children worldwide.

58 million children worldwide are not in school.

29 million of these are because they do not have the means.

In many countries you cannot go to school without a pair of shoes.
