Leweston achieved great success at The National Prep Schools Cross-Country at Malvern College. In the Under 13 boys’ race Archie C, who only started running when he joined Leweston last term, took an early lead in a field of over 200 runners. Over the challenging 3.2km course, Archie maintained his lead until 400 metres from the finish where a chasing group of athletes caught him. He eventually finished in a brilliant 5th place.

The team of Ben H, Ollie P, Freddie G and Archie C placed second in the Small School Category.

The Under 11 team of May S, Issy W, Cecily F, Amelia O, Ellie C and Jessica W also ran superbly to finish 9th team overall out of over 40 schools and second in the Small Schools Championship.

Our Under 13 team (Photo top of page) also had a fantastic afternoon. Darcy D, the National Prep Schools 1500 metres champion, ran away from the field to win the National title by 20 seconds. Closely followed by Lucy B, Molly C, Ginny B, Loveday F and Millie W. The team were crowned not only the Small Schools National Prep Schools Champions, but also won overall title too against much larger schools. Last term the same team won the south-west title out of over 50 schools. The team have also won the St Mary’s Shaftesbury, Leweston, Bryanston, Canford, Clayesmore and Milton Abbey Races this season.
