On Sunday 16 June Leweston Pentathlon Academy hosted the National Triathle Championships at Leweston School, this was also a Qualifier to select a Great Britain team for the World Triathle Championships in St Petersburg, Florida on 25-27 October. The Triathle is a continuous Shoot-Swim-Run and the distances are completed two or four times dependant on age. There were 120 competitors taking part in the various age groups with 18 athletes from Leweston School taking part and 56 Leweston Pentathlon Academy club members.

Leweston’s athletes had great success with 8 students gaining selection for the Great Britain Team. In the U11 category; Minnie M had a great race to finish 5th, Charlie O 3rd, and Tom S 7th. In the U13 we had the most competitors with the girls’ race proving to be very competitive. Molly C raced hard and took Gold with Nikita M in Bronze, Millie W 9th, May S 10th, Fenella T 12th,  Evanna B 15th, and Isabelle W 21st.

In the U15 Girls, Ginny B had a great race to finish in Silver and in the U15 Boys Archie C continued his winning streak to take Gold and Freddie G 10th.  In the U17 Girls Vivien T raced well to take Gold with Lucie G in Silver.

This was a great National Championships for Leweston with 3 National Champions, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze. Leweston also had 8 athletes selected for the Great Britain team; Minnie M, Charlie O, Molly C, Nikita M, Archie C, Ginny B, Vivien T and Lucie G. Another excellent achievement for the School and the athletes.
