The School Governors of Leweston are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr John Paget-Tomlinson as the new Senior School Headmaster with effect from 1 January 2020.
Mr Paget-Tomlinson, who is currently Deputy Head (Academic) at Portsmouth High School GDST, will succeed Mrs Kate Reynolds who moves on to join the Royal High School Bath as Head in the New Year.
Mr Paget-Tomlinson holds a BA in History and Philosophy from the University of Reading, an MA in War Studies from King’s College London, an MSc in Education Leadership & Management from the University of Portsmouth and a PGCE from the University of Chichester. Prior to his current role at Portsmouth High School he was at Churcher’s College in Hampshire and progressed through a number of roles there including Head of Department and Deputy Head of Sixth Form.
Making the announcement, Mr Chris Fenton, Chair of Governors at Leweston School said: ‘I am delighted that John will be joining us in January. He will bring to Leweston extensive experience in senior management of a successful and flourishing school. I have no doubt that his leadership skills and charismatic drive will lead Leweston on to greater success, and that he will maintain the strong, supportive community that makes Leweston stand out from other schools ‘.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Paget-Tomlinson said: ‘I am thrilled to be appointed to the role of Headmaster at Leweston. The school is truly exceptional, and it is a great honour to be part of its continuing success. I look forward to returning to co-education, where I spent the first half of my career at Churcher’s College, and to Dorset, where I spent much of my early life. My wife and two daughters are equally delighted, and we are all certain of the warm welcome that awaits us at Leweston.’
