Our current Polish Sixth Form students, Wiktoria and Zofia went to the United World Colleges Poland Association reunion this summer with this year’s leavers Aleksandra and Marta. Whilst there they met with Old Antonian Marta Tondera, who has recently graduated from UCL in Natural Sciences, and Ania who will be joining Leweston in September.
United World Colleges Poland Association is a non-profit organisation, affiliated with the United World Colleges (UWC) organisation of international schools. UWC has existed since 1962 and is a global education movement that aims to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. Central to the ethos of UWC is the belief that education can bring young people from all backgrounds together to engage with social change through courageous action, personal example and selfless leadership.
The main goal of the UWC Poland Association is to support the development of society through international education. The Association supports a number of individuals who are studied on scholarships in boarding schools abroad. Leweston has been working with the Association for many years and has been delighted to welcome a number Polish students during this time, all of whom have been significant contributions to the School community.
We wish Aleksandra and Marta all the best with their continued studies at University and look forward to welcoming Ania to the Leweston community soon.
