Supporting the children’s emotional development is at the heart of all that we do at Leweston, and it was for that reason that we participated in the recent ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’. Set up by children’s mental health charity Place2Be, the week shines a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. This year’s theme was Find your Brave. The Prep pupils took part in a variety of activities, from mindfulness sessions, charity cake sales and ‘Find Your Brave’ show and tell. The Prefects started the week with an assembly in which they shared the work of ‘Place2Be’, the child mental health charity, and also shared some strategies for handling stress, anxiety, sadness and anger.

It is critical that our pupils understand that their mental health is as important as their physical health, and that we take care of it in many of the same ways.

Well done to our pupils who managed to raise £186.50 for Place2Be at Year 3’s cake sale, selling amazing cakes that they baked at home!
