Pupils in Year 7, 8 and 9 have been producing some fantastic project work in their recent Art and Design lessons.
Year 7 students have created wonderful, confident works inspired by the painter Mary Fedden. They have enjoyed expressing her simple and brightly coloured style through their own still life set ups.
Inspired by the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh and a painting of his chair from 1888, pupils from Year 8 created a work in which their chair can been seen as a substitute for a self portrait. This required them to find and choose a chair and objects which they felt represented them.
Year 9 students have created stunning contemporary artworks inspired by Michael Craig-Martin.
Using everyday objects to firstly create observational line drawings, they then arranged their composition and coloured their work using a mixture of bright and contrasting hues.
