Rhetoric is a Year 7 to 9 academic enrichment activity, particularly aimed at Leweston’s Academic Scholars and Able and Gifted pupils but is open to all who are interested (spaces permitting), and takes place every half term.
The activity had its first live meeting of the Spring Term on Monday. Groups of pupils worked in their Year group bubbles on a variety of challenges to encourage lateral thinking, communication skills and team work. Activities included solving a variety of brain teasers and building the highest free standing structure (using just three resources), the strongest bridge and the most creative 3D shape with points awarded for each challenge. Everyone worked extremely hard on their challenges and the final scores were close, but Year 8 emerged victorious.
Well done to all of the students who took part, we look forward to the next meeting.
