Speech Day was different again this year, as sadly we weren’t able to invite parents to the ceremony. However, we were delighted to be able to welcome them virtually and to hold the presentation for Year 6 in Trinity Chapel.
We also got to hear from each year group their, pre-recorded, favourite things about Leweston or most cherished memories from the year. It was fantastic to hear from Year 6, as they shared their Leweston memories before heading off on their next adventure at Senior School in September, and to see them cheer on and support each of their classmates as they went up to collect their awards.
A big well done to the prize winners and to all the pupils who have worked so hard and showcased their determination, confidence, and resilience magnificently throughout this year, despite it’s challenges.
As Miss Phillips said in her speech – “It has been another extraordinary year; for so many of the wrong reasons, but also so many of the right. Any community, any school, any team, can manage when things are going well, but it is when challenges hit that these things are truly measured. My goodness; this year has shown the measure of us all, and I have never been more proud of the family community that is Leweston Prep. I am honoured to lead a school where the pupils astonish and delight us every day, where the staff are second to none, and where the parent community support us so well….
Year 6, I want to thank you for everything that you have given the Prep. We have loved having you with us; always stay in touch. Look after each other, be strong and don’t wait until you feel ready.”
