Congratulations to all 20 of our athletes who represented Leweston at the National Schools Modern Biathlon Championships last weekend, having qualified for the competition earlier in the year.

Pupils competed against the clock in both the pool and on the track, with points awarded for their performances across both disciplines. Highlights of the weekend included Arthur achieving the second best swim within his age group, and Archie winning the run element in his age category. Archie went on to take individual Silver in the U15 Boys competition, with his team mates Matthew and Bruce joining him to win a fabulous Team Silver!

To complete a great weekend of competition, our athletes were also lucky enough to meet their Olympic Modern Pentathlon heroes, gold medal winners Kate French & Joe Choong!

We look forward to 4 pentathletes representing the school on 23 and 24 November at the Yorkshire Pentathlon at Beverley, taking part in their first full Pentathlon event.

The next schools Biathlon is the South West Schools Biathlon at Yeovil on 14 November, and is a qualifier for the National Schools Biathlon which takes place in March 2022 at Bath University. Leweston School athletes interested in entering this event please contact Mr Mick Flaherty, Head of Pentathlon, for further details or questions –
