2021 NSEA National Championships at Keysoe International, 22-25 October

Eleven Leweston riders and twelve horses made the five hour drive from Dorset to attend the 2021 NSEA National Championships at Keysoe International. Only qualified teams and riders compete at this event with schools coming from all over the Country.

The highlight of the four day show was our team winning the National title in the Regional Points League Final.  Eight squad members ride one show jumping round (against the clock) at four different heights (at either 70cm, 80cm, 90cm or 1m), Leweston won this class by producing six fast, clear rounds and were delighted to be presented with the 2021 Championship title and lots of lovely prizes and rugs. Many congratulations to Josie M, Hen J, Molly C, Tara W, Maisy M, Madeline RS, Mia K and Charlie W.

Our Dressage Team (Flora SB, Madeline RS, May S and Charlie W) took 3rd place in a highly competitive Championship class against 24 other school teams.  Madeline RS also took individual 7th and 8th place in the Individual Prelim Dressage Championship class.

Our 1.10m Show Jumping Team (Mia K, Flora SB and Matilda J) were very pleased to take home 3rd place and Mia K went through into the final of the 1.10 Individual jumping with a fabulous clear round, finishing the class in 8th place.

Maisy M and Madeline RS jumped very good rounds in the technical 1m JWS (Arena Eventing) to take 9th and 12th place respectively.

Our 70-75cm Show Jumping team all went clear and just missed getting into the final eight for the jump off, a 10th place was really pleasing in a very competitive class with 35 teams entered, well done Josie M, May S, Hen J and Tara W.

The  Intermediate Show Jumping class (90-95cm) had 43 teams and 63 Individual entries.  Charlie, Matilda, Molly and Madeline had to wait all day to hear they were through to the final with the fastest four faults! The top eight teams jump off for the Championship title – and after such a long wait the team were delighted to come home with 6th place. Molly C also finished in 10th place individually.

Congratulations to all our hardworking riders, supportive parents, and lovely horses for making the long trip to Bedford so worthwhile with great results and wonderful team spirit.
