On Wednesday 22 November, Gillingham School hosted In2Hockey for eight schools including Leweston, who entered a tournament to go through to Regionals next term.
Well done to our ten, under 12 girls who won the Dorset In2Hockey Tournament yesterday afternoon, becoming County Champions! The team demonstrated some brilliant play and developed their advanced hockey skills in a friendly manner and spectators were proud to see how well the team conducted themselves both on and off the pitch. In2Hockey is England Hockey’s adapted game format aimed at players 10-14 years old and is played as a 6-a-side game without goalkeepers, or as a 7-a-side game with goalkeepers, in aid of gradual progression of the game of teamwork and skill.
They will now join our under 11s and under 13s at the Regional Championships to represent Leweston and Dorset at the West Tournament at Millfield School in April.
Thank you to Gillingham school for being such accommodating hosts and congratulations to all the teams who entered and demonstrated fantastic, high spirited hockey playing skills at such a young age.
