On Thursday 3 March, Leweston School had a visit from Army representors, Paul Baker and Bradley Hayden, for an Army STEM day.
They ran two workshops, one in the morning for Year 9 and one in the afternoon for Year 7. Year 9 were involved in designing, building and launching Rocket cars. The rocket cars had to be carefully cut using a laser machine and were then tested on the Netball courts during period 3 to see which group was the fastest. Well done to Team 5 for producing the fast rocket car! Year 7 were set a task to design a robot to aid search and rescue in an Earthquake zone using Lego Mind storm.
Thank you to Paul and Bradley for the two challenging and inspiring workshops, all our students really enjoyed themselves.
