Sixteen athletes travelled to Malvern College to compete in the National Prep Schools cross-country championships.
The Under 13 girls were the defending champions and once again excelled on the demanding 3.2km course which started with the first 300 metres being up a steep hill.
The team of Izzy W, Year 8, in 19th, Jessica S, Year 8, in 29th, Grace S, Year 7, in 34th and Esme L, Year 8, in 42nd, finished in an impressive 6th place. A very young Under 11 girls team of Charlotte S, Prep 5, in 57th, Bessie S, Prep 5, in 73rd, Tilly W, Prep 4, in 125th and Florence R, Prep 6, in 148th finished in 24th place out of the 36 teams.
As most of the team will be eligible to compete next year, this was a great experience for them. The Under 11 boys team of Oliver M, Prep 5, in 84th, William D, Prep 6, in 127th, William H, Prep 6 in 145th and Henry M, Prep 4, in 177th finished in 33rd place out of the 37 teams. The Under 13 boys were led home by William S, Year 7, in 44th followed by Jonas G, Year 8, in 83rd, Tom S, Year 7, in 116th and Freddie S, Year 7, in 132nd to finish in 29th position in the team standings nationally.
All of the athletes were delighted to receive their free t-shirt and were proud to represent the school in a national championships. Well done to everyone involved.
