Five Leweston pupils travelled to Manchester Salford Quays to take part in the National Biathle Championships, which was a qualifying event to select a GB Biathle team for the World Championships in Madeira.
The athletes had some great races with top class opposition. In the U15 girls, Jessica S, Year 8, had one of the toughest races of the day to finish 18th. In the boys U15, Josh H, Year 8, had his best race of the season so far to finish fifth and gain GB selection, with teammate Jay C, Year 8, 10th.
In the boys U17, Thomas J, Year 11, was fourth and Mathew P, Year 11, fifth, and therefore resulting in both being selected for the GB team.
Well done to all athletes that took part and congratulations to Josh H, Thomas J, Mathew P, who have been selected for the GB Biathle team for Madeira in October!
