Leweston School has been welcoming students from overseas to the School since its foundation in 1891 and attracts pupils from all points of the compass.
As a small school with a strong sense of community Leweston is home to a number of overseas pupils. Our international students are an important part of our friendly, diverse community and reflect the fact we are part of the global village. Our 2015 Boarding Inspection highlighted how well our overseas students were welcomed, how well they integrated and how much they enjoyed their time boarding at Leweston.
Overseas pupils at Leweston are well motivated and keen to learn. They come from professional families worldwide and go on to study at top universities in the UK and abroad after obtaining excellent GCSE and A-level results. International students who join in Sixth Form achieve, on average, one grade higher than expected at their previous stage of education.
The Leweston community embraces the rich cultural diversity of its students and regularly celebrates this, encouraging international pupils to introduce their fellow pupils to their own cultures and heritage with events like our International Day, Chinese New Year and Cinco de Mayo.
