Leweston offers a range of different boarding options that allow pupils and their families to find a style of boarding that works well for them. All boarding options are open from Year 4 to Year 13.
Full boarding offers pupils the opportunity to stay at school seven nights a week. It provides boarders with the opportunity to focus on their studies at the evenings and weekends with all the school’s resources on hand as well as enjoy all of the social opportunities Leweston has to offer. A full programme of evening and weekend activities means there is always something to do.
Full boarders can go out any weekend but there is one formal exeat per half term when all boarders return to friends, family or their guardians.
For many families weekly boarding offers the best of both worlds freeing pupils from a daily school journey and, again allowing them to concentrate on academic study and extra-curricular activities. Weekly boarders return home on Friday evenings and either return on Monday morning or Sunday night with our weekly boarding ‘plus’ package.
Pupils can flexi-board for one, two or three nights on an occasional or regular basis. This option is popular with those with regular after school commitments and families juggling hectic modern lives. One of the biggest advantages of being a boarding school means we have the facilities available to make life easier for families.
Flexi-boarders can finish their homework in supervised prep, enjoy a healthy supper and spend time with their friends ahead of the following school day.
Many pupils start their boarding journey as a flexi and then move to weekly or full boarding as they move to the examination years … or they find out how much they enjoy it.
A popular option for international pupils, short stays can range from two weeks to two terms. These programmes enable students to experience life in an English school, improve language skills and access English as an Additional Language lessons.
"I've been boarding for 3 years and I just love the activities that are organised to bring us all together like a family"
