Leweston has had many years of experience in catering for the needs of Forces families and provides pupils with a stable second home as well as excellent academic outcomes.

The School is well-known for its strong sense of community and family focus. Our Houseparents understand the challenges that military pupils can face whilst away from their parents and the emotional impact deployment can have. They provide the consistent and caring support needed at these times and are ready to celebrate homecoming. The wide-ranging activities programme and supervised prep means plenty to do in the evenings and at weekends and the tutor system ensures that form tutors see their pupils every day and provide regular contact with home. Many members of staff have experience of or links to the military themselves.

As a boarding and day school we offer a range of different boarding options which allows pupils and their families to find a style of boarding that works well for them, be it full, weekly or flexi boarding. There is no Saturday tuition pupils so pupils can travel home on a Friday evening to spend the whole weekend with parents, returning either on Sunday night or Monday morning. The school is within two hours travel of Plymouth, Portsmouth, Abbey Wood, Salisbury, Andover and Poole and transport is available from Yeovilton and Blandford.

Leweston welcomes full boarders who receive the Forces’ Boarding Schools Allowance – Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA).
