Leweston Lectures: Dr Ben Broadbent

March 10 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

We are delighted to announce that our ‘Leweston Lectures’ will be making a regular appearance in the school calendar once again. Our inaugural talk will be given by Economist and Deputy Governor to the Bank of England, Dr Ben Broadbent on Friday 10 March, (14:00-15:00) in the School Chapel.

Having studied at the University of Cambridge and Harvard University, Dr Broadbent has been an Assistant Professor of Economics at Columbia University, an Economic Adviser to HM Treasury and a Senior European Economist at Goldman Sachs. As the current Deputy Governor (Monetary Policy) Dr Broadbent has specific responsibility for the monetary policy, including monetary analysis, banknotes, and data and analytics transformation. He has shared responsibility for the international macroeconomic analysis, strategy, and engagement.

Dr Broadbent will be talking about his education, career, and focusing on the current economic environment.

We will be inviting all of Year 10 and 12 to attend the lecture, as well as selected students from other years. Parents, staff, and the wider community are all welcome to join us. Admission is free but booking is essential due to limited space.

Dr Broadbent has chosen a charity to support: Demelza Hospice Care for Children. You can support this charity by following our JustGiving page here
