In an increasingly complex landscape of university and careers setting each student on the path that suits them best is vitally important. For this reason Leweston offers three different qualifications in Sixth Form: A Levels, BTECs and the Cambridge Pre-U.
With a choice of 20 different subjects most students take three A Levels which combined with the enrichment programme provides a breadth and depth of learning. Some student will follow four subjects, usually where both Mathematics and Further Mathematics are studied. As far as possible the School allows students to choose any combination of subjects but there is a minimum number for a subject to run. The School will also advise on a course of study if a student has a particular university course or career in mind.
Typically Sixth Formers have 10 hours of teaching per subject per fortnight. In addition to their chosen subjects they attend lessons in Religious Studies, Physical Education and follow the enrichment programme.
Classes of 6-8 give plenty of opportunity for discussion and enquiry and staff are always on hand to answer questions.
