Joining the Sixth Form

Every year approximately 15 students join Leweston Sixth Form from outside of the School. Sixth Form entrants are expected to achieve 6 GCSEs at grade 5 or above with a grade 7 or above in the subjects they wish to pursue at A Level or Pre-U. They are also asked to sit the school assessment in English and Maths. Entry is at the absolute discretion of the Head. We also require a reference from your current school.

All prospective Sixth Formers are invited to the Sixth Form Information Evening in October where you can meet the staff and discuss your A Level, Pre-U and BTEC choices. You are also invited to our Sixth Form Taster Day which takes place in the Autumn Term. This provides the opportunity to experience Sixth Form and trial some of the new courses on offer. Alternative ‘taster days’ can be arranged throughout the year.

Sixth Form candidates are welcome at all of our Open Events and parents are encouraged to arrange an individual visit to meet the Head, Head of Sixth Form and tour of the school.

At the end of the admissions process you will receive a formal offer and asked to secure your place by paying a deposit (which is returned against your final School bill). A New Pupil’s Pack will then be sent to you ahead of your child’s start date.

More information about joining the school can be found in our Admissions Guide 2019-2020.
