Our celebrations for Chinese New Year took place after School last week. The students sat down to a Chinese feast with an extra treat of hand-made traditional dumplings crafted by some of our Chinese students in the School's Home Ec room. Surrounded by red lanterns and fairy lights (thanks to Angela and Yixin) we enjoyed music and games, organised by Selina and Gigi, while we ate and all guests were generously presented with Red Pockets containing chocolate money from the Chinese students (thanks to Zoe and Elsa).
Although it is a worrying time for our students from China and Hong Kong we were able to fill a dark February evening with light and celebration as we came together as a School community.
Visit our School Blog to read about the importance of being a 'global village' as Mrs Taylor, Head of EAL, discusses the contribution of international students to the Leweston community.
