Art and Design are taught as part of the curriculum from Reception to Prep 6. From Prep 4 pupils have weekly Fine Art lessons with a subject specialist and Design is part of the creative carousel along with Design Technology and Home Economics.

In Fine Art pupils are be taught key skills such as drawing from life, working three dimensionally and learning new processes and techniques like print making in order to develop their visual language. Work is created both independently and collaboratively and the pupils are encouraged to develop their own sense of style as well as confidence in their artistic abilities.

Design follows a similar pathway, teaching skills through a variety of activities and media resulting in products which take into account design, functionality and aesthetics.

Pupils from the Prep are taught in the school’s Art and Design Centre which provides a Graphic Studio, Art Studios, Textile and Design Room, photographic dark room and pottery.
