We want everyone to get the most out of their final years at Leweston. Sixth Form is an exciting time and decisions, plans and ideas made now will forge the future ahead.
Life in Sixth Form is a busy one and students needs are not the same as before. All Sixth Formers at Leweston, day or boarding, have dedicated space to work, socialise or relax. The Sixth Form Centre is located at the heart of the school close to the Library and is shared by all Years 12 and 13, day and boarding. It provides a space for the students to mix and relax, and incorporates a courtyard garden which allows students to socialise and study outdoors if and when we have good weather.
There is a study room for day students but the spacious and bright Pensabene Library is another possibility whilst the Eleanor Library is a dedicated, and exclusive Sixth Form study space. Sixth Form boarders have their own study bedrooms in their Houses. Sixth Formers can also use the school Cedars Café during breaks and study periods.
The maturity and independence of Sixth Formers serve as a passport to move freely around the school and capitalise on its resources, both the Art and Design Centre and Music School have A Level Studios purely for their use. Whatever the student’s learning style, or task, there is somewhere for everyone.
Away from study, Sixth Form students have unsupervised access to the gym and enjoy privileges not extended to the rest of the pupils. They enjoy greater freedoms, for example Year 13 have the option of signing out and leaving the campus in the afternoons, provided they have no other commitments.
