In the evenings there is an extensive after-school programme, which is on offer to both day and boarding pupils. The large majority of the clubs are free of charge, but where an external instructor is booked, a small charge may be applicable. The daily bus services leave at a time that allows day pupils to participate in these events.
Pupils choose options for Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays between 4.45pm and 5.45pm and 7.30pm and 8.30pm. The programme varies each term. Pupils are invited to comment on the programme and suggest future activities to be included.
There are also supervised Prep sessions for boarders which, again, day pupils can join if they want to come home with their academic work finished for the day.
Every weekend both boarders and day pupils are invited to participate in further activities and trips. The timetable is again prepared in advance and circulated to all parents at the end of the preceding term but, in order to accommodate last minute opportunities, as well as the British weather, the programme is supplemented on a weekly basis.
Every Saturday morning Years 7 to 11 attend a Saturday activity on a different topic, for Sixth Formers attendance is voluntary. These activities are organised by members of the academic staff or the pupils themselves.
