Victoria began her career working in communications before moving into risk management consultancy - helping journalists, charities and individuals work safely across the globe. Looking for more hands on humanitarian experience she joined the HALO Trust in an operations role, clearing landmines and other explosive ordnance in Asia, the former Soviet Union and Africa where she still works regionally now. She holds a Masters in Violence, Conflict and Development, qualifications in training, negotiation and education. She also supports various organisations across Sub-Saharan Africa with a focus on environmental protection and women’s empowerment and provides mentorship to scholars from West Africa. 

This lecture will address her background of leading mine action projects in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Cambodia, and Abkhazia. How she got into this career, travel advice and personal risk and security tips.
