Joining the Prep School

Whilst most pupils normally start in the Autumn Term, we welcome applications to the Prep School throughout the year, as long as there is availability.

The first step to finding out more about Leweston Prep is to visit the school for a guided tour and to meet the Head of Prep, Mr Thompson.

Registration

To officially start the admissions process please complete and return a registration form, along with a registration fee of £75 which is non-refundable. Places in popular year groups such as Reception, Year 4 and Year 5 can be subject to a waiting list and there are times when the school needs to make a selection decision. Registrations will be considered in the order they are received so we recommend that families register early. Applications for future years are very welcome.

Taster Day

Prospective pupils are then invited to attend a taster day, when they spend the day with their potential year group. There will be an informal assessment in literacy and numeracy at this time which typically forms part of a lesson. A ‘guardian angel’ (another pupil in their class who will stay with them all day) will look after your child and you will have the opportunity to meet and speak to their class teacher on arrival and collection. After a successful taster we will request a reference from your current school.

Offer and Acceptance

If we are able to offer your child a place we will email you with our Parent Contract and Acceptance Form. Offers may be open for a limited time only. You will be asked to secure your place by completing the Acceptance Form and paying a deposit (which is returned against your final school bill).

Induction

Joining information will then be shared with you well ahead of your child’s start date. All new pupils are invited to a 'Move Up Day' in June.
