Sport Facilities

Leweston's excellent sports facilities are aided by the acres of grounds in which the school sits.

There is an all-weather hockey pitch which also provides nine tennis courts in the summer. There is also a sports hall which acts as both an indoor netball and hockey court, and provides four badminton courts. Other facilities include; six netball courts, six hard surface tennis courts, a 25m indoor heated swimming pool, 300m grass track and synthetic long jump.

Our lettings are open 7 days a week with extended opening hours during school holidays.

big_3A2A6154-1024x683The school’s cavernous sports hall plays host to fencing, shooting, gymnastics, fitness training, badminton, basketball, trampolining and many other indoor sports.

The hall has markings for: netball, tennis, volleyball, badminton, basketball and 5 a-side football.

Equipment available as part of the hire includes: netball posts, volleyball posts, badminton posts, basketball hoops,  a partitioning wall and blue crash mats.

Swimming Pool

swimming pool finished 001 altOur heated 25m swimming pool comes equipped with floats, lane ropes, a viewing area and changing/shower facilities.

The pool can be hired exclusively for birthday pool parties at the weekends and during the holidays. It also plays host to a number of swimming clubs and training organisations.

Its unusual design allows extensive bifold doors at the front of the pool to be folded away on summer days which also allows the school to hold regional and national Biathle and Triathle competitions as competitors can run straight into the pool complex.

Canva Design DAFdQcHh2BsOur rugby pitch is the perfect facility to hire for local clubs in the Sherborne area looking to train or exercise outside.

Leweston School is delighted to be a partner of the Bath Schools Rugby Programme, which provides out students and other local pupils with the opportunity to receive high quality coaching sessions as well as participate in masterclasses and roadshows.
