- Joining the Nursery
All families interested in joining Leweston Nursery are warmly encouraged to visit us. This is the best way to:
- Meet the Head of Prep and Nursery Supervisor to discuss your child’s needs
- Tour the nursery and grounds
- See our children and staff in action
Visits can be arranged with the School’s Admissions Team by emailing admissions@leweston.dorset.sch.uk. They will answer any questions you may have and arrange a convenient time for you to visit. Or you can click on the button below:
Please note: Leweston is a popular Nursery and all age groups are currently fully booked, with waiting lists in some age groups. The Admissions Team will talk you through this process when you get in touch.
Registration
Registration is the first step of the admissions process and secures a place for your child (or a position on the waiting list, where applicable).
- Parents complete a Registration Form
- A non-refundable fee of £75 is payable on registration
- Registration is particularly important for those sessions and contracts that are currently on a waiting list
Settling‑in Sessions
Children joining the Nursery are invited to attend three settling‑in sessions, all of which are free of charge:
- Session 1 – 1 hour
- You stay with your child
- Session 2 – 2 hours
- Your child attends without family
- Session 3 – 3 hours
- Your child attends without family
At each session, your child will be greeted by Nursery staff and will follow the Nursery timetable. Staff will keep a close eye on them and provide you with feedback at the end of each session on how they have settled. A place is offered following your child’s settling‑in sessions in the Nursery (subject to availability).
Offer and Acceptance
If a place is available and the settling‑in sessions have gone well, we will make a formal offer.
To accept the offer, we ask you to pay a deposit and sign the Parent Contract, which guarantees the place.
A New Pupil Pack will then be sent to you and a start date agreed. New starters are usually asked to join at either the start of term or half term to ensure a smooth transition.
