THE SPACES

The Drawing Room

The Drawing Room

Picture 5The light and airy Drawing Room, with its impressive bay windows, commands a view of the Italian Garden. The 1930s were an age of sun worship when light was encouraged to flood into rooms through large windows or reflected in glass, and the room has a mirrored wall, which is inspired by the large ocean liners of the day. It also contains a beautiful grand piano.

This versatile space was originally the Drawing Room of the private house and is now used for a range of different events.

It has some of the finest, and rarest, examples of Art Deco interior design in the country, painted by George Sheringham. The murals feature Persian hunting scenes and the barrel ceiling has decorative motifs of the zodiac. This is accompanied by Ayrton’s chimneypiece.

This beautiful room is commonly used as a private space by the bride and groom.

The Italian Garden

Issy & Simon-406The Italian Garden is a beautiful setting for your wedding breakfast or evening drinks.

Designed by Thomas Mawson in 1912 the enclosed garden is located outside the Drawing Room. It is an idyllic venue for a summer celebration, set amongst the beautiful flowers, and next to the central pond.

The Trinity Chapel

The Trinity Chapel

Trinity Chapel Leweston SchoolBuilt in 1616 and bathed in history, this Grade 1 listed building is truly stunning.

The historic wooden pews and imposing windows give the chapel a wonderfully romantic and impressive feeling. Inside, there is a rare example of a double pulpit and, while is no longer large enough to hold the whole school, is used for smaller services as well as weddings and baptisms and will seat approximately 40 people.

When the sunlight pours in through the spectacular windows and the aisle is full of flowers, it creates a magical moment which will be remembered for many years to come.

The Belvedere

The Belvedere

Belvedere-8-300x200

The Belvedere is an enchanting feature inspired by the walk of The Villa de’Este near Florence. The statue at the entrance is a replica of the Florentine Boar which, in turn, is a copy of the Roman marble statue housed in the Uffizi Museum.

A short wooded walk leads to a natural crescent amphitheatre with a central well, looking out over the Dorset countryside. The location is truly magical, making it a perfect setting for any outdoor celebration.

Popular for ceremonies of all sizes, drink receptions and wedding photoshoots.

The Dining Hall

The Dining Hall

The size of the room means it can accommodate a dance floor and still have ample seating for your guests.

The max capacity for guests is 250, depending on table layout.
